Removal of ANC deployment committee

The Zondo commission found the ANC’s cadre deployment policy to be unlawful and unconstitutional as it contributed to state capture. The party is resisting the commission’s findings and little progress has been made on this front.

PSEC made independent

The president established the Presidential State-Owned Enterprises Council (PSEC) in 2020 to support government in repositioning state-owned enterprises (SOEs). It is supposed to have the sole discretion to appoint executive positions to SOEs, based on recommendations from the boards of SOEs. However, there is little evidence of its genuine independence.
